Mission
El Refugio Fundación, A.C. exists to provide resources and expand opportunitites for children, teens, families, and churches in North America, sharing the love of Christ so that others may realize the hope that we have in Him.
In everything that we do, we want to live out God’s love. We love our community and we continue to support local churches and ministries as they serve others in their own areas.
El Refugio partners with various churches from Canada, USA and Mexico to serve the community of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
Our primary ministry is Casa Esther where we provide a home for girls who have been pulled from situations of abuse, neglect, and/or trafficking. We provide a safe, supportive, and loving home environment where they are given opportunities in education, life skills, and Biblical training to help each individual grow and develop towards her full potential physically, emotionally, educationally and spiritually.
We also host and facilitate short term mission teams that come to serve, working through local pastors to help them reach out to their communities. Groups can choose to build a home for a family in need, help with construction needs in the communities, provide food to needy communities in our sponsored feeding programs, or do visitation ministries in prison, rehab centers, migrant camps, and youth drop-in centers. Vacation Bible School, sports ministry, English camp, and other outreach programs are also wonderful options for groups to do with the local children.
Accommodations
Located just outside of downtown Ensenada, Baja California, approximately 2 hours south of San Diego, El Refugio was designed with individuals, families, and groups up to 35-45 people in mind. We offer safe and comfortable accommodations, providing three meals a day, as well as hot showers, safe drinking water, and limited Wi-Fi.
